the eternal flame

the eternal flame rests atop tower measuring forty metres. lit @ independence celebrations in 1982 , embodies spirit of zimbabwean independence. tower highest point @ heroes acre; can readily viewed harare.

two walls on either side of monument carry murals depicting history of zimbabwe, pre-colonial times through chimurenga, rhodesian bush war, , independence under national hero robert mugabe.
