further downriver near humboldt oxbow park, contains boating access ramps , lots of scenic open space. park s southern border iowa highway 3, , south of joe sheldon county park. park split 2 sections, 1 camping , 1 focused on recreation. there access west fork of des moines river lower part of park.


continuing along river, lake nokomis area begins, popular woods , small ponds. cottonwood trail runs through area.


west of livermore, lott s park allows access lott s creek. park has lots of benches , picnic tables. south of ottosen ottosen marsh state game management area, colloquially ottosen potholes. east of dakota city dakota city river park, near old dam , humboldt county historical museum. near unincorporated community of pioneer pioneer prairie pothole wildlife area.
