israeli armed forces began operations against hamas , rocket launchers @ 11:30 a.m., 27 december. more 50 fighter jets , attack helicopters entered gazan airspace. palestinian sources said israeli forces responsible killing 225-292 palestinians , wounding more 1,000. extensive attack on gaza since 1967. iaf, said responding hamas rocket attacks on southern israel, dropped more 100 bombs on 50 targets, reportedly included hamas paramilitary bases, training camps, , underground qassam rocket launchers. bombs dropped on government offices, police stations, , hamas headquarters.


the aircraft used f-16 fighter jets , ah-64 apache helicopters. 140 members of hamas security forces killed, including police chief tawfiq jabber, head of hamas’ security , protection unit , police commander central gaza, along @ least 15 civilians. children among casualties. bombed areas included ceremony new police officers. 40 graduates killed. mosque in gaza city targeted in airstrikes , 2 palestinians killed. israeli military spokesmen said mosque being used terrorist activities .
