of aboriginal , european descent, renouf murgon mustangs junior , developed game broncos in teen years. renouf made début in brisbane broncos first grade side in 1989. scored first try club in 1990, , following year went on set new club record of 4 tries in home fixture , broncos top try scorer of 1991 brisbane broncos season , 1992 (along allan langer) seasons. in 1992, broncos claimed first premiership, winning winfield cup grand final against st. george 28-8, highlighted 98-metre try renouf in second half. after willie carne had somehow managed avoid being trapped in in-goal, broncos captain allan langer passed renouf stepped inside rex terp , took off downfield michael hancock in support no 1 in front of him after burning saints fullback michael potter speed. veteran dragons winger ricky walford gave chase , made ground on him renouf tired on final 20 metres, failed stop him scoring.


in weeks following broncos grand final win, renouf travelled kangaroos england 1992 world cup final @ famous wembley stadium. renouf made début australia in front of international rugby league record attendance of 73,631 fans, scoring try of match after running off pass broncos team mate kevin walters in second half. australia defeated great britain 10–6 win sixth rugby league world cup. week later, renouf played brisbane in 1992 world club challenge against 1991-92 british champions wigan @ central park in wigan. broncos capped best year defeating wigan 22-8 , becoming first australian team win world club challenge in england.


in 1997, renouf scored 14 tries, included hat-trick against cronulla-sutherland sharks in 1997 super league grand final on 20 september @ anz stadium in brisbane s 26–8 victory. therefore named man-of-the-match. no other player score 3 tries in grand final until manly winger michael robertson did in 2008.


he played centre brisbane broncos in win @ 1998 nrl grand final. on decade after leaving broncos still club s all-time leading try scorer, having amassed total of 142 tries.


wigan warriors

renouf s wigan warriors début came in round 4 of challenge cup against whitehaven @ central park. scored 2 tries on début in side s mammoth 98–4 victory.


in 2000, renouf awarded australian sports medal contribution australia s international standing in rugby league. renouf played wigan warriors @ centre 2000 super league grand final loss against st helens r.f.c.. final game wigan warriors , indeed last game @ highest level 2001 super league grand final on 13 october @ old trafford in manchester. side lost bradford bulls 37–6.

back in australia

following return australia continued playing football easts in queensland cup alongside former broncos teammate darren smith. in 2006 renouf became 7th former player inducted broncos official hall of fame. during 2007 season @ broncos 20-year anniversary celebration, club announced list of 20 best players play them date included renouf.


in august, 2008, renouf named @ centre in indigenous team of century.
