Gameplay Magic: The Gathering – Duels of the Planeswalkers 2012




the new archenemy mode pits 3 players (bottom) normal health against 1 player (top) health , additional abilities. archenemy in combat phase, attacking 1 of 3 opponents using 4 creatures. targeted player blocking 2 of attacks 2 of own creatures.


the core game follows standard rules of collectible card game magic: gathering; each player has deck of cards consisting of lands , spells. lands used generate mana , resource needed cast spells. mana comes in 5 colors, , cards may require colored or generic (mana of color) cast. spells come in many varieties, sorceries , instants have one-time effects, summoned creatures can attack , defend opponents. players alternate turns playing land cards, casting spells, , attacking opponents until 1 player s life total reduced 0.


there 3 campaigns; initial campaign, challenge campaign, , campaign featuring new archenemy mode. each of 3 campaigns has eleven missions. in addition, puzzles, scenarios player takes control of 1 side of match has been played , has achieve victory in 1 turn, make reappearance in sequel. unlike in first game, puzzles standalone mode, puzzles in duels 2012 integrated campaign unlockable side missions.


multiplayer makes return duels 2012.

the game s expansion, titled ascend darkness released on september 14, 2011. expansion featured 3 new decks, allowed players play archenemy, , added archenemy mode single player campaign , archenemy challenge content. 3 deck packs, each consisting of 2 new decks, released on november 16, 2011, december 14, 2011, , january 11, 2012. these brought total number of decks nineteen.
