multicultural theater camp

in 2001, herberger theater center began collaboration free arts abused children heal young lives through performing arts. teens group homes, shelters , treatment facilities throughout maricopa county have opportunity create , experience arts through two-week theater camp @ herberger theater center.


during intensive camp, guest artists , creative volunteers introduce children improvisation, character development, mask making, costumes, props , technical components of theater. production totally created young campers , culminates final performance.


arizona young artists competition

the herberger theater center , center dance ensemble collaborate on annual competition showcase diverse, emerging talent of young arizona artists. begun in 1999, competition offers young artists, ages 15–19 opportunity compete in areas of acting, dance (modern, ballet, jazz, hip hop , tap) , voice. during competition young artists opportunity learn audition process, interact highly regarded arts professionals.


the winner in each category receives $1,000 scholarship further education in arts.


wolf trap

another collaboration center dance ensemble, wolf trap program consists of sending artists center dance ensemble preschools , head start classrooms train parents , teachers use performing arts teaching tool. program culminates in field trip herberger theater approximately 1,000 children participating on stage in movement activities, ballet , music session.
