born in gaglianico, piedmont, zanchetta started professional career @ internazionale. after working way through club s youth ranks, made first team debut in italian serie on 23 october 1994 against u.s. foggia. season played twice inter, both against foggia.


ahead of 1995–96 serie season, left foggia in co-ownership deal. zanchetta proved me mainstay in line-up @ new club, making 57 league appearances in 2 seasons. after scoring 7 goals in second season club, inter bought full registration rights zanchetta , sold him permanently chievo shortly after.

at chievo 1 of regular starter, , scored 8 goals in first season.


reggina & vicenza

after relegated serie c1, zanchetta secured move serie struggler reggina in co-ownership deal. zanchetta showed talent in attack, scored 5 goals in second serie season, in although reggina relegated. co-currently, chievo won serie promotion finished third , bought zanchetta.


he played 2 league matches chievo in 2001-02 serie season.


in summer 2001, swapped club fabio firmani, , both club co-owned players. collected 3 goals each in 2 season vicenza @ serie b.


chievo return

in june 2003, firmani , zanchetta moved original clubs. chievo, awarded new contract until june 2007 in march 2004 (along salvatore lanna), failed become regular starter worked backup player, team had mario santana, luciano, franco semioli , victor nsofor obinna in attack. wore no.10 2004 2007, toke lorenzo d anna.


due 2006 italian football scandal, chievo qualified 2006–07 uefa champions league, played both legs attacking midfielder role. played in 2006–07 uefa cup first round both legs, chievo lost in 2-3 aggregate.


lecce

in january 2007, left lecce, in exchange giuseppe cozzolino. in first 1 ½ seasons regular starter, , won serie promotion in 2008, faced relegation again in 2009.


cremonese

in july 2009, transferred cremonese @ lega pro prima divisione.
