contemporary reception of these mayan revival residences not positive, critics derided use of concrete blocks, cheapest available material, in construction of upscale homes. opinions have since changed, , houses built wright s textile blocks of famous residential landmarks in area, added u.s. national register of historic places, , praised striking , innovative style.
