LNG Properties Rapid phase transition

liquefied natural gas or lng natural gas gets liquefied @ atmospheric pressure , −161.5 °c. odorless, tasteless, colorless, , not poisonous causes asphyxia. can cause frostbite due cryogenic temperature. if extremely cold lng mixed water(e.g. sea water, has average temperature of 15 °c), heat energy transferred water lng, rapidly vaporizing liquefied state original gaseous state. results in explosion because volume occupied natural gas in gaseous form 600 times greater when liquefied. phenomenon of rapid phase transition.
