history

fk mladost formed in titograd in 1950, before changing name ofk titograd in 1960, name of podgorica 1946 until 1992. club renamed mladost in 1992. until 2008, , moving new stadium @ camp fscg, Ćemovsko polje, club old podgorica town (drač neighbourhood).



period 1950–2006

fk mladost, means youth in montenegrin, founded in 1950 second team podgorica center (the first yugoslav top-tier side fk budućnost).


soon after formed, fk mladost gained promotion montenegrin republic league yugoslav second league. first season in second league 1955/56, team spent 3 consecutive seasons.


in period 1959–1968, team played in montenegrin republic league (third-tier competition in sfr yugoslavia) 5 champion titles. but, champion, team podgorica did not succeed in making comeback second league losing games in inter-republic playoffs, against teams macedonia , serbia. finally, team under name ofk titograd gained promotion yugoslav second league 1968/69.


this time, played 6 consecutive seasons in second league, season 1968–69 1973–74. @ era, ofk titograd played first official games against oldest , better-known city rivals fk budućnost. best result @ time ofk titograd made @ season 1971–72, winning fifth place @ second league table.


after few promotions , relegations @ second half of 1970s, ofk titograd played 4 consecutive seasons in yugoslav second league 1979–80 1982–83. last biggest successes under name ofk titograd.

at 1992, name of team changed , fk mladost started play in football system of newly formed fr yugoslavia. of seasons in period 1992-2006, mladost spent in fr yugoslavia second league.


in september 1997, fk mladost made record win in history during montenegrin republic league match against fk iskra danilovgrad 15–0.


during sfr yugoslavia , fr yugoslavia times, mladost spent 24 seasons in second league. @ same time, team won 12 titles of montenegrin republic league winner, best score of team in competition.


at same time, mladost won 5 montenegrin republic cups, , played in yugoslav cup. biggest success in yugoslav cup, came on season 2001-02 – in 1/16 finals, won against napredak kruševac, mladost eliminated in 1/8 finals, away against radnički obrenovac. same success, mladost made on season 2005-06. in first phase of cup of serbia , montenegro, mladost surprisingly won against first league member voždovac (2–1), , in 1/8 finals, club podgorica lost in last minutes against successful serbian club crvena zvezda in belgrade (1–2).


period 2006-

following independence of montenegro, montenegro s best clubs joined newly formed montenegrin first league. among them fk mladost, won playoff game against zora spuž (4–0, 0–2).


mladost played 2 consecutive seasons in first league, relegated second league @ summer 2008. new come-back top-tier competition mladost made @ season 2010-11. since then, fk mladost played more important role in montenegrin football.


in 2012–13 montenegrin cup, mladost won game against pljevlja 10–1, , striker luka rotković scored 7 goals, record in official games played in montenegro.


first greatest result, mladost made @ season 2012–13, when gained historical first promotion uefa european competitions. team podgorica played in 2013–14 uefa europa league , achieved surprisingly result. in first leg, mladost eliminated hungarian-side videoton (1–0; 1–2) , in second leg better against slovak team senica (2–2; 1–0). in round 3, mladost played against sevilla fc defeats in both games (1–6; 0–3).


for first time, mladost played in montenegrin cup final game @ season 2013–14, defeated against lovćen (0–1). next season, mladost again participated in cup finals, tame won trophy, after extra-time win against petrovac (2–1). first national trophy in history of club.


with success, mladost gained participation in european competitions - 2015–16 uefa europa league. in first round, mladost made big surprise, eliminating neftchi baku (1–1; 2–2). @ next phase, mladost eliminated neighbouring side kukësi (2–4; 1–0).


the significant result in club s history, mladost made @ 2015–16 montenegrin first league. after hard struggle city-rivals fk budućnost, mladost won title of montenegrin champion, first in history. mladost made great success winning 3 championship derby games against budućnost (2–0; 3–1; 2–1).


in summer 2016, mladost played first season in uefa champions league, eliminated @ beginning of qualifiers, against ludogorets razgrad (0-3; 0-2).


talent producing

since foundation, fk mladost known talent producing team, great work youth teams. in period 1950-1990, mladost functioned youth players factory of first league side fk budućnost podgorica. many notable players started careers in mladost youth or first team, , among them dejan savićević, niša saveljić, predrag mijatović , stevan jovetić. 2 of them won uefa champions league trophies - savićević ac milan , mijatović real madrid.
