history

stamford brook opened bus garage in 1980 after two-year construction. built chiswick tram depot, had latterly been used operate british european airways bus service between heathrow airport , west london air terminal on cromwell road.


the original plan create temporary home riverside garage buses , staff whilst garage re-built view taking on workload mortlake , turnham green close. idea changed , garage took on work turnham green closed , inherited garage code v. following service reductions, mortlake , riverside closed in 1983, of work moving stamford brook.


in 1981 stamford brook took on airbus routes a1 , a2 following withdrawal of existing british airways services between heathrow airport , central london. these vehicles transferred in 1994 west ramp (which became outstation of v) leaving garage allocation of mcw metroriders, mcw metrobuses, leyland olympians , dennis darts.


the garage closed in 1996 , became store unlicensed buses held possible future use. in 1999 reopened cater increased demand in area. in 2001 allocation consisted entirely of dennis darts. when route 9 converted aec routemaster 1 man operation in september 2004, moved shepherds bush, , east lancs myllennium vyking bodied volvo b7tl double deckers appeared.
