st ann s industrial school opened on 15 july 1894 governor of queensland henry wylie norman. purpose provide home , education neglected or delinquent girls. designed architect f. d. g. stanley. in 1940s partially converted boarding house young women working in brisbane central business district or studying @ university of queensland. in 1964 remodelled classrooms hallows school.
