the season

spring (haru) - name of season kigo or season word. other combinations spring begins (haru tatsu), signs of spring (haru meku), sea in spring (haru no umi), spring being gone (yuku haru). spring higan (春彼岸, haru higan).
february (kisaragi or nigatsu), march (yayoi or sangatsu) , april (uzuki or shigatsu). third month (sangatsu) in japanese calendar equivalent april in gregorian calendar, therefore end of march (sangatsujin) equal end of spring (haru no hate).
warm (atatakashi or nurumu) - spring - weather changes cold of winter, warming noticed. water becomes warm (mizu nurumu).
spring mist or spring haze (kasumi) - spring - daytime haze of spring. nighttime haze during spring can obscure moon called oboro. haruichiban, first strong southerly wind of spring used kigo in modern haiku.
