the cliff s unique ecosystem hosts lichens, cedar trees, of may as 5 hundred years old. hosts mountain s population of peregrine falcons. however, action of rock climbers has proven destructive ecosystem, in addition being dangerous climbers themselves. white cross on cliff commemorates death of boy scout in 1941.
