the jew’s house built in local limestone in norman or romanesque style. dating mid-twelfth century, building consisted of hall @ first floor level, measuring approximately 12 6 metres, above service , storage spaces @ ground level.


part of façade survives; elaborately carved doorway, remains of 2 romanesque double-arch windows , of stonework on upper storey. chimney breast rises on arch above front door, serving fireplace on upper floor. there once 2 columns supporting arch, these have gone.
