athletics

from 2010-2012, south pointe athletics competed in region 4 of aaa along chester high, fairfield central high, fort mill high, nation ford high , york comprehensive high. in 2011, announced sc high school league south pointe move aaaa , compete in region 3 other 6 york county, sc high schools (clover, fort mill, nation ford, northwestern, rock hill, , york comprehensive) lancaster. in 2013, announced stallions moved backed down aaa athletics.


south pointe s teams stallions. boys sports include: baseball, basketball, cross country, american football, golf, soccer, swimming, tennis, track & field, , wrestling; while girls sports include: basketball, cheerleading, cross country, dance, golf, soccer, softball, swimming, track & field, , volleyball.

south pointe has seen great success on gridiron in limited time school has been around. struggled in first 2 varsity years in 2006 , 2007. broke out undefeated 15-0 record in 2008, winning division ii aaaa state championship. lost in aaaa upper state championship in 2009 , suffered defeat in 2010 aaa state championship. won second state championship in 2011 aaa state championship going 14-1 year. stallions made 2012 aaaa upper state championship before being defeated greenwood high school 35-31. south pointe s varsity , junior varsity coached head coach strait herron. south pointe s ninth grade team coach head coach lance roberts.


swimming

the stallion swim team competes in region iv-aaa , under supervision head coach adam rainey. lady stallion swim team has compiled 21-3 record in rainey s 3 seasons team. have consistently broken , reset new school records (45 date). 7 female swimmers have found national placement of 2012. izzi woodard school s first female state champion , swim champion south pointe high. won women s 100 yard breaststroke @ 2011 aaa state finals in columbia, sc.
