history
period 1920–2006

fk mogren founded in 1920 fk budva. in period 1921–1941, team played in montenegrin football championship (1922–1940) without significant successes.

after 1945, in sfr yugoslavia era, fk budva participated in fourth league – south (lowest rank) , won title on season 1966–67, meant promotion montenegrin republic league. until end of 1970s, fk budva played seasons in republic league , lower ranks.

for first time in history, fk budva won title in montenegrin republic league on season 1980–81, doubled trophy of montenegrin republic cup winner same year. third league title gave fk budva historical promotion yugoslav second league. 1988–89, fk budva played in yugoslav third league , in 1990, club renamed fk mogren.

for first time, fk mogren played in yugoslav first league on season 1992–93. until 2006, spent 5 seasons in yugoslav first league. fk mogren team montenegrin seacoast ever played in first league of yugoslavia.


period 2006–

after montenegrin independence, fk mogren became member of montenegrin first league, finishing 5th in inaugural season. in second season of league, (2007–08), club finished in third place on 66 points, losing out on title on goal difference buducnost. position allowed mogren compete in 2008–09 uefa cup, played israeli club hapoel ironi kiryat in first qualifying round. despite 1–1 away draw in first leg, mogren went out 4–1 on aggregate. on may 7, 2008, mogren won first silverware defeating buducnost 6–5 on penalties after 1–1 draw in montenegrin cup final @ stadion pod goricom in podgorica.

mogren won first league title in 2008–09 four-point margin on buducnost, , qualified uefa champions league first time. champions league campaign in 2009–10 opened 6–0 aggregate victory on hibernians of malta before 12–0 aggregate defeat fc copenhagen of denmark in second qualifying round. in 2009–10 season, mogren finished third in league qualify first qualifying round of next season s uefa europa league, won 5–0 on aggregate on ue santa coloma of andorra. second leg saw mogren take on israeli club maccabi tel aviv , lose first leg 2–0 away. subsequent 2–1 home victory mogren saw them eliminated 3–2 on aggregate.

mogren gained second league title in 2010–11 on goal difference after both , buducnost finished level on 73 points. on 28 may year, mogren played in second montenegrin cup final, defeated 5–4 on penalties rudar after 2–2 draw. league triumph allowed mogren enter 2011-12 uefa champions league, saw them eliminated in second qualifying round after losing both legs litex lovech of bulgaria.

after many successful seasons, @ period 2013 2015, fk mogren, under debts , crisis, played relegation playoffs in montenegrin league, , after season 2014–15 automatically relegated third league.
