cypress park includes nickel-leong mansion (hcm no.849), large antebellum-style, greek revival mansion @ isabel street , thorpe avenue. house built in 1905 restaurateur max nickel , later owned leong family of chinatown. house designed john c. austin, los angeles architect, 1 of designers of los angeles city hall, griffith observatory, , arroyo seco bank building @ figueroa street , york boulevard.


additionally, richard henry dana branch (3320 pepper avenue, hcm no.1004), former branch library of los angeles public library, #47 on national register of historic places in los angeles.
