gomez born in catford, london gambian father , english mother. joined academy @ nearby charlton athletic @ age of 10, making debut club s under-18 team @ 13 years old. despite strong interest numerous other clubs, gomez signed first professional contract charlton in october 2014. senior debut came in 4–0 league cup victory on colchester united @ valley on 12 august 2014, playing full 90 minutes right back. week later made league debut in 3–2 home win against derby county in championship. gomez went on make 24 appearances during first season including 18 starts, both @ right , in preferred position of centre back.


liverpool

on 20 june 2015, premier league club liverpool signed gomez on five-year contract fee of £3.5 million. made debut against stoke city on 9 august, starting left in 1–0 win, assisting philippe coutinho s match-winning goal in 86th minute.


on 13 october 2015, gomez suffered season ending anterior cruciate ligament injury while playing england u21. full year later, gomez returned full first team training on 13 october 2016. on 13 november, gomez played 45 minutes in behind closed doors friendly.


on 8 january 2017, gomez made first start in official first-team match since injury, in fa cup tie against plymouth argyle.


gomez made european debut on 23 august 2017 against hoffenheim in champions league playoff.
