when sana university first established, had 2 faculties: faculty of sharia , law , faculty of education, included specialties of colleges of arts, sciences , education. in 1974, specialties developed , formed 3 new faculties: arts, science, education. faculty of sharia , law celebrated launch of business department, became independent faculty year later. time, university included 5 faculties , continued expansion until included rest of other specialties. in 2000, university included 17 faculties, ten of in sana including types of academic specialties; rest spread around country.
