johnson suspended club first 5 matches of 2007 season after arrested public drunkenness in wangaratta on 24 december 2006 - charge later dropped. returned in round 6 against richmond went on contribute 21 possessions , 2 goals in match geelong won 157 points. went on post career-best numbers across board, capped off all-australian selection on half-forward flank in september.


his 2007 season capped off when johnson lead cats victory in grand final, collecting premiership medallion, , winning norm smith medal best on ground in grand final. johnson hailed feel story year, example of player reforming after disciplinary action.


2008

early in 2008 however, johnson lost drivers license , sentenced 50 hours working tac after clocked in on 70 km/h on speed limit in 50 zone. teammate shannon byrnes in car @ time.


he had yet stellar season in 2008, kicking 49 home-and-away season goals , earning spot on forward flank in all-australian team of 2008. gathered 34 disposals in cats grand final loss hawthorn.


2009

in 2009 afl season, played 18 matches , kicked 40 goals, finishing tenth in geelong best , fairest award. member of cats 2009 premiership winning team.


2011

in 2011, stevie wonder , struggled consistently produce captivating form had won him australian selection in previous years. still force though, gaining recognition being honored in initial all-australian squad of 40. season came abrupt end, when during third quarter of preliminary final between geelong , west coast, appeared sustain serious injury left knee. racing against clock in order gain fitness grand final against magpies, heavily speculated johnson unable gain full fitness in time. entire week, whilst team-mates trained in spotlight, stevey j spent time in melbourne in hyperbaric chamber. fortunately himself , geelong fans, johnson able gain fitness needed , played vital part in cats win on pies. went on kick 4 goals amongst 14 possessions, claiming third premiership medallion.

2016

in october 2015, johnson signed one-year contract greater western sydney. in first match against old club in round 2, johnson kicked 2 goals new club won 13 points.


on september 28, 2016 johnson announced had signed 1 year contract extension gws, after missing preliminary final loss due suspension. johnson played final game of career in 2017 preliminary final, collected 15 disposals , 4 marks in 36 point loss richmond.
