the admission scheme (or eas ), subsystem of joint university programmes admissions system (jupas) since 2003, allowed school candidates 6 or more s (distinctions) on first attempt of hkcee, level 4 or above in english language, , level 4 or above in chinese language or c or above in french or putonghua apply university of hong kong, chinese university of hong kong, or hong kong university of science , technology institutions after secondary 6 study, without need sit hkale.


each year 400–600 students entered scheme via subsystem in jupas. selection procedure exists in scheme but, unlike mainstream scheme of jupas, students guaranteed firm offer in eas regardless of number of applicants in eas. students met eas requirements not need apply scheme enter aforementioned universities (though of them will), need take part in hkale , participate in mainstream scheme if did not participate , want pursue studies in hong kong.
