Musical career Jonathan Meiburg



meiburg first started public musical career whu gnu in 1993 in austin, texas. first came national prominence collaborating sheff on multiple projects: meiburg played keyboards in band led sheff called okkervil river, , both men wrote songs new project meiburg named shearwater. due increased popularity of shearwater , touring conflicts between 2 acts, however, meiburg left okkervil river in may 2008.


meiburg has performed , recorded solo artist. buteo buteo collection of acoustic guitar , bass songs, self-published through shearwater s bandcamp site. why love home (songs charles burchfield) collaboration andy stack of wye oak whitney museum of art, recorded solo in studio , self-released in 2011.


in 2010, collaborated jamie stewart of xiu xiu on recording project named blue water white death. debut album released in october 2010 on graveface records.


he has played live , recorded bill callahan, sharon van etten, wye oak, , others.
