fon thai divided 3 types:



fon lep (fingernail dance): northern thai dance style. each dancer wears 6 inch long brass fingernails. long fingernails accentuate finger movement of each dancer. dancers wear hair in chignon-style yellow jasmine flower tiara.


fon tian (candle dance): performance consists of 8 dancers, each carrying candles. dancers in pairs, 1 pair each side. wear full-length sarongs , jackets matching shoulder cloth. dance held @ night.


fon ngiew (scarf dance): dance performed @ happy event. dance similar fon lep dance faster , more fun. each dancer wears yellow flower tiara, jong kra bane, , sabai.
